Back in October 2017, the Ceratonia Foundation launched
a call for participants to take part in “Gear -Up”, a transnational
project happening over a two-phase period. Gear Up is part of the
European Greens Activists Training, organised by the GEF – Green European Foundation with the support of the Greens/EFA in European Parliament.
The project was split over two phases: the first phase consisted of a
National Training and a European Session; and the second phase, which
consisted of a briefing session and a trip to Brussels to complement the
education and to meet other activists from Europe.
Between the 5th and 9th March, thirteen Maltese activists took part in the Brussels Study Visit together with activists from four other countries: Czech, Hungary, Finland and Croatia.
During the week participants had the opportunity to actively debate and discuss social, political, environmental and economic issues. This also stemmed new friendships with different people and sustained older ones.
The European Greens Activists Training is happening again this year. Stay tuned for more information in the coming months as preparations are underway!
